[edit] Background to this historical innaccuracy:
The DMZ 'media arts' event (see http://www.dmzlondon.net) claimed, on their website that the Uo was one of the 'stakeholders' in the event.
The text on that page (which has now been changed) read like so:
> WHO IS IN THE DMZ?
> The DMZ has a constituency: participants in and visitors to the festival, > people living and working locally, those active in media arts practice across > the city or simply interested in getting experience of or further involvement > in creative and critical uses of technology and media. Everyone is invited to > attend the event, join in with the many and varied activities, engage with its > exhibits, contribute, question, and discuss just what it is to co-exist in the DMZ.
> Who has put together the DMZ festival? DMZ has several stakeholders, those who > have conceived and initiated the festival and who will be present during the > two days, running the event and helping you to navigate the space.
> The DMZ stakeholders are Limehouse Town Hall and the University of Openness > (as hosts of the event), Mute Magazine, MAP, Digital Guild, SPC, Film London > and The Arts Council London. There are 11 commisioned participants exhibiting > media arts projects in the DMZ, each featured in this publication. Additional > contributions are also being made on an ad hoc basis and all are invited to > roll up during the event and plug-in their project or talk about their work.
[edit] Remedial claims:
The Uo as an organisation has not been involved in the DMZ in any way, although Uo members are participating in the festival within other groups. There has certainly been no Uo involvement in the 'conception or initiation' of the event. The Uo as a whole has not recieved funding or patronage from any source, although individual members or faculties may have. This representation as part of an Arts Council / Film London funded event might give the impression that the Uo is a 'stakeholder' - or has been given a 'stake' in the event. This is not the case. However, it is likely that the inclusion of the Uo was an innocent mistake, intended to reflect well on the Uo.
[edit] Remedial action:
Access to the dmz server was gained by a UoJanitor who changed the page to reflect true situation:
