What is a claimer?

The UoClaimer is a positive explanation of how liabilities and conflicts are mitigated at the Uo, as opposed to a disclaimer that disclaims responsibility or interest in difficult situations for fear of legal reprisals.

The University of Openess does not represent the views of any one individual or group. The Faculties and the individuals within faculties have relative autonomy and the wiki is open to anyone to edit anonymously.

If there are problems with the cross-representation of views on the uo wiki, please negotiate with the authors of that content on the UoMailingLists to sort out a useful compromise.

Sometimes there can also be InterFacultyConflict. This is not necessarily a bad thing, just a result of different ideas about knowledge, and different ways of expressing it. Experience suggests that the best approach to perceived offence is curiosity. So again, try the UoMailingList to ask about changes to things you've written on the wiki if they seem to damage or subvert your intentions.

If you are upset by something you have read on the Uo Wiki, that's a pity, please don't feel that whatever it is that has upset you represents the views of the entire Uo or any of its members or even the authors of that content themselves...
