TaxonomyGames
From UoWiki
An ongoing project of the FacultyTaxonomy is to research word games (or Taxonomy Games). Every day in the FacTaxOffice we play CateGories with whomever drops in. If you know of word games, describe them here please. We are particularly interested in:
- Categorisation games such as CateGories and Scattergories (this is the commercially available version of our categories game)
- CategoriesGameSheets - a proposed factax product for the DatabaseImaginary show - game sheets for categories with instructions about how to link up with the FacultyTaxonomyLibrary
- alternative forms of bingo, such as NewMediaBingo, Hipster Bingo and alternative multiple choice trivia games
- nomic (a rules game by Peter Suber)
- Calvinball (from the comic strip Calvin and Hobbes )
- Boggle and Scrabble (we think these are word games more than classification games)
- Chaos irc game ?
- GrandTextAuto , one of my favorite blogs, swears by Wordcount
- TaxoNomic - doesn't exist yet, but in futurological terms, it is very real indeed. More reality indicators for TaxoNomic might become evident soon.
An ongoing project of the FacultyTaxonomy is to create new games, and we've been prototyping one using pictures. While we are searching for a name and alternate ways of playing it, meanwhile here's a presentation of
