TaskManagement
From UoWiki
[edit] Above & Beyond
A very ugly, but amazingly powerful task manager. My main problem with task management tools is that they eventually become so populated with todo items that you cant cope and start over. With a little tinkering this baby can do some pretty good stuff to stop you being overwhelmed.
I have to work with loads of concurent projects, constant requests and long term research. I have managed my todo list in a text editor for years becuase nothing else seemed to get me to a point where I felt I was able to manage my tasks. This is the first manager that has made me want to move beyond trusty VIM. It's most useful feature - workload balancing.
Based on a few parameters, this tool will move tasks around over a period of days, fitting floating tasks between appointments and trying to optimise the order. By switching views, I can tweak priorities and just tell it to balance things out again.
Main problem, it's not free. The only version I would use is the PRO version and that's about $150. Fine when the company pays, but a bit much for an inividual.
