first draft for L-Expression: a special purpose language to talk about landscapes:
http://socialfiction.org/onlyone/LEX.html
The L-Expression is an linguistic exo-skeleton of self defined segments. As a special purpose language (a language solely dedicated to talk about landscapes) it needs to offer some kinds of convience or level of precision over natural languages. This precision can probably be found in the amount of time/effort that is needed to render the text into the most precise image of what it's describing.
hacking the language of crowds
http://socialfiction.org/onlyone/crowdcrystal.html
taking for granted that crowds generate extra-human intelligence - that is intelligence generates without intent or even awarenes from the individuals in the crowd - we can just as well assume that this intelligence produces a coherent pattern of signals aka a language
a very socialfiction worthy enterprise, part of OnlyOneNativeSpeaker , would be to first find a way to capture this language and secondly to decode into something we can make sense of, to hack or to translate it.
as a first hunch we will use the GrowingCrystals metaphor to distill a pattren from the movement of a crowd: every time a crowds density reaches a certain minimum the molecule is without medium and is left - a mark on the map - the psychogeographer blending with the crowd goes on following it untill it get stuck and another molecule is emitted; these molecules afterwards are aggregated on the map, this crowd crystal is a fragment of the never ending monologue crowds are emitting
now we will have to decypher it, this is the project
SETI is an important source of knowledge on the pitfalls
artificial intelligence with doors is yet another approach to find the language emitted by crowds, http://socialfiction.org/doors.html
it is to be seen if something akin to biosemiotics (biology that interprets living systems as sign systems) can arise from this, aka: crowd semiotics
