Planning to bootstrap, or gauge interest in, the Lime as a local currency at the Open Weekend at Limehouse Town Hall

  • we'd need to pull together some intro material which would be accessible and exciting to non-anoraks who might have a stake; how do we convey that in a pamphlet: "attention, interest, desire, action"

  • accessing the default community network as a practise metaphor for getting connected to a local currency

  • the groups which are active in the town hall now, and are plugged in to underesourced, creative communities and could be interested. (communities of interest)

Also planning to establish a Dork and socialise it amongst other active dorkbots. (NYC, SF, where else?)

SMS gateway to cclite going to be crucial for engaging people who don't tend to have immediate net access, though there has to be a web-based registration phase initially; this is our target market both for a local Lime and for transactions at WSFII

Michael talks about the Denver CC conference and its context

We're wondering about mounting a hackfest / summit as part of WSFII and as a followup to the Denver conf and propagate the message into receptive contexts (open mappers, open network builders)

Mamading's been experimenting with pylets and creatng patches, and it was also introduced during one of the Tuesday workshops.

Talk of feature sets - transactions, notices, storage, exchange; it would be good to write an abstract spec, as well as practical storage backend / protocol abstractions.

Talk of Japanese developments and a DNS-like auth delegation level for multi cc exchange

i10n is a big issue

cclite has multilang but not multicharset support

Mamading reportback on the LETs and open source software workshops that have been running in the Map Room and are now over.
