[edit] General ongoing points for discussion and action
- The possibility of creating a "three boroughs" LETS system between Tower Hamlets, Hackney and Newham
- The features of different online LETS and community exchange software now in development, with an eye to inter-networking them.
- Use cases and requests for features from people running local LETS or wanting to do so.
- The idea of Common bond LETS which are usually (and traditionally) one geographic area, like Credit Unions.
- Seed projects which may have an art/intervention angle and not be aspiring immediately to full-blown trading system status.
- LETS as a potential free infrastructure which can carry the value of 'soft' currencies such as reputation exchanged in collaboration into other domains without losing the social quality of the currency.
[edit] What are the outcomes?
- The World Summit on Free Information Infrastructures, planned for October, is a week-long gathering of people and projects working on different kinds of open information exchange systems. Functioning, distributable LETS software and systems would interest many of the participants.
- Resource-sharing between different software implemented LETS projects, and increased input into them of potential or actual user communities.
- Regular technical help at all levels for established LETs communities, updates to various websites etc.
- The bootstrapping of community exchange system experiments around Limehouse and east London.
- We might think about possibilities, how to realise some necessary works on the building with LETS money.
- Could there be a helpdesk or training as an anchor operation for social currency? See Curtiba recycling projects with bus tokens...
- A mini-proceedings of the sessions and an development of the ideas coming from them, intended for publication as a piece of the Uo Journal: 'Communications of the UO' .
