The study of security is essentially the study of insecurity. How to prevent things from going wrong, and then what to do when they do.
The Faculty of Security aims to explore both the possible causes of insecurity, and the measures taken to cope with the aftermath. Disaster recovery plans for cities, buildings, and organisations. Anti-terrorist philosophies and attitudes, CCTV paranoia and human rights challenges. The economy, how it could fall over, and what kind of trade will exist afterwards.
