This is the place to discuss plans and ideas.
here is the motivation behind the walk
[edit] Psychogeographical Walk in Orleans la Source
This walk takes its cue from a point made by Flaubert during his stay in Egypt, here he concluded that your nationality should be based on where you feel at home and not by the arbitrary borders which enclose the place you or your parents were born.
Your motherland can be distributed around the globe, patches of it can be found all over the planet, and perhaps even outside it. Collecting these tiny bits of motherland can be a very important part in your life as finding them add to your quality of life. Psychogeography, which is the art of finding things serendepitically, which is finding things while looking for something else or for nothing in particular, can be a valuable help in this search for motherlands uncovered.
The practical problems to implement this scheme in the time of Flaubert were unsolvable. For instance you will need a very large passport to notate the always changing list of places where you belong to. While travel of course was much less easy and universely accesible. These days we have computers and databases, finding and them managing your motherland has never been this easy. The problematic social situation related to borders, turn this new way of organising nationality into a viable option that does justice to present states of mobility.
Collaborative mapping is the big thing these days among circles of psychogeographers and underground cartographers. Its basic proposition is simple : the world is big but if everyone maps their own surroundings and we then combine them we all possess a full map. This psychogeographical walk we will find and share patches of modernland in Orleans la Source. Of course not everyone is equally at home at the same places. But collaborative intelligence might point you to a dear piece of motherland you otherwise woulkd have missed.
This psychogeographical walk will start at the tramway station Bolires
